Question about mufflers

Question about mufflers

Postby (K) » Sun Jul 13, 2008 6:22 pm

I was wondering if the V6 and I4 mufflers are the same? Are the gen 1 and 1.5 I4 mufflers the same as well? Are they interchangeable and will bolt right up to the pipes without a problem?

I have a spare stock muffler for my '02 I4 lying around and I have a friend that needs a new one but he has a 2000 Camry V6. I want to say it'll fit and work because the greddy exhausts work on both platforms regardless of engine choice. But those are whole systems as opposed to just a muffler, the fitment might not be right.

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
(K)

Thanks for the insight, it makes sense to me since it's not like a header or anything. I'll just give it a shot anyway, the only thing I'll lose is some time and effort.
