so this morning I got into my car and it shakes hard, almost as if it were a low rider, I restart it about 3 times, and the third time I leave it on, after 45 seconds it shuts off and the engine light comes on, I scan to see if I can get a code but it is clear and I am pissed lmao

I am ready to go tell off an attendant @ bp b/c the only thing I did was fill up the tank the night before and I thinkin maybe I got some crap in my tank, but first I go to midas (the shaking isn't a problem when in motion), the guy tells me that he does not have a exact clue for why it shakes, but says that it will have an 80% chance of being fixed if I let them clean the fuel system and change spark plugs and he tells me that the plugs I have are really old

I am mad first b/c i took it to them to check out the car before I signed the ink and the only comment they gave was to get a new gas cap b/c the factory one was dirty, but I was like go ahead....

they put in some NGK Iridiums and all I can say are they are wonderful lol, shaking is gone, but it also speeds up much faster......just thought I would post this lol, oh and my old plugs were really bad, black as night and the tips were long gone

How many miles are on the car? Just curious how long those plugs lasted.

I pulled my old plugs at 113K and they were so corroded I can't even imagine how they were working. I also swapped in the NGK iridiums and have no complaints so far. Glad everything worked out for you.

yep, I pulled my stock plugs at 139k miles, they actually looked decent, but I had high idle and a lot of other crap. So I swapped in Denso IK20 iridiums. World of difference.

for some reason.. when i go to autozone/pepboys and i got iridium spark plugs for about 6 bucks on my first car. then my mechanic said that they were the wrong ones and that the ones i got were cheap ngk iridiums. He told me that he went to jtown to get good ngk iridiums and the lowest price was no lower than 10 a piece.

Can someone help me clarify that? Am i being jipped or is there different grades?

NGK says the best for your car is Laser Iridium Long Life part number IFR6T-11 should be about 8 dollars a plug

Iridium IX (BKR6EIX-11 ) on the other hand are also really good and are about 7 dollars a plug.

The cheapies are V-power spark plugs BKR6E-11

the funny thing is I got the plugs for free, and I would have questioned it but I have known the guy that worked on it for a while, I mean he did about 95% of all work that was done for my old camry coupe, even before I took it over
