Synthetic Transmission Fluid

Synthetic Transmission Fluid

Postby AguinaldoHomes Inc » Wed Oct 24, 2007 7:56 pm

Have any of you guys ever did a complete transmission flush and replaced it using Synthetic Transmission Fluid? I've been contemplating for a few weeks now to start using Synthetic on my AutoTrans...

Thanks,

MArk

Replaced with synthetic when I had my clutch changed. I remember it felt easier to shift afterwards.

You dump gear oil through the differential and then fill it back up with the plug on the front of the engine. You basically keep filling it up until it starts coming out the plug hole. Or you can check with your finger.

When you refill do you jack it up or do it flat on the ground. I do it flat.

One is for the automatic trans (ATF) and one is for the manual (75w-90) be careful on other cars they sometimes take 10w-30 in manual trans. For Hondas nothing beats Honda MTF from the dealer.

I use mobil 1 synthetic atf. Lasts a lot longer than conventional. Doesn't turn into that nasty burnt brown goo.
