Loud thud when shifting..

Loud thud when shifting..

Idk if this has ever happened to anyone else but I seem to hear (and feel) a loud thud when shifting from reverse to drive and sometimes before i shift into drive. It happens on occasion but doesn't sound good and was just wondering what it was and if it's a problem with the transmission. It's hard to describe the sound but it's like a medium knock sound and I have a four speed auto.

Any input would be great, I'm thinking about taking it in to get looked at but doesn't seem to be a big deal...

Do you press the button (not the OD) on the shifter when you shift between P and D gear?

^^Yes that would be the best description.^^ I rarly ever shift while still moving that is something I avoid doing. I mean it doesn't have a big effect on anything but just sounds bad.

not in my solara but another car, you could feel the trans knocking the floor when it shifted. The trans mount was broken. Just something to look into
