I Need a New Fuel Line! (HELP)

I Need a New Fuel Line! (HELP)

Postby ArizonaEagle07 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:06 pm

This is my problem!
I have a fuel filter that is frozen onto the fuel line! I have tried every method of getting this puppy off. Using PB Blaster, vice grips, 14mm wrench and so forth!

As of now I have a fuel line that is partially kinked 4" inches from the bottom of the fuel rail. I have a bolt that is rounded off and stripped, and threads that lead up to the filter that are rusted & corroded.

My question now is how much will the dealership charge me for a new fuel line?

What is the process of installing it? (My backseat is removed already)

trd4life has been helping me greatly with this any advice would be greatly appreciated! I have used the Search Button not many posts on Fuel Lines. If need be I will create a How To on Installation of a new fuel line.

Thanks Again.

Advanced Auto Parts told me they sell the standard universal tubing for fuel lines, but thats not what I need. I need the fuel line that has one end for the fuel filter and the other end to the pump

I had the same problem and got an OEM line from Toyota for $20-30 . Have some patience in slipping the new line in, it took me a few tries.

Also, it helps to wrap the threads of the new line that go into the filter. It will help seal the fitting and make it much easier to remove in the future, if needed.

Where does the other end of the line go to? I haven't traced it yet but I hope it's not a PITA like taking the fuel filter off... :O)

It goes down the driver's side back to the fuel tank. There's a short rubber hose running from the fuel pump that it connects to. Mine wasn't frozen on that end at all, which is odd since it's open to the elements as well.
