Do I need a new clutch?

Do I need a new clutch?

This has happened to me a while ago but it was much more intense yesterday and today. I have a 99 manual V6

Yesterday i was rolling on the highway at 120km/h, rpm is almost at 3k. I decide to accelerate to the max, so i keep it on 5th gear and i floor the gas pedal... i feel some acceleration for 2 sec, then the acceleration stops. I look at the rpm and its just before the red (6k i think). Its like i was on neutral and i was press gas to the max.

So i stop accelerating and everything went back to normal... then there was this wiered smell for 10 min.
today same thing happened on 4th, but i stopped before i reach 4k rpm.

do i need to get i new clutch or transmission? This will cost way to much... i was supposed to go on a racing track tomorrow but i m gonna cancel this

You're clutch is definitely finished. I wouldn't wait to get it replaced or you'll end up stuck in traffic with a burnt clutch like I did.

is it ok to buy this on ebay or is it better to get it from the dealer? I found these 2 on ebay, which one is better? What do i need to check for and what do i need to make sure comes with the package?

You don't need to buy from the dealer, but make sure you buy from a trusted source. Concerning which kit to buy, spend some time researching on SG—there's a wealth of info about clutches. I wouldn't go overkill (especially if you aren't boosted) b/c daily driveability will be sacrificed.

Most clutch kits should come with everything needed for install.

it is a good deal.... but i wouldnt be suprised if that was an oe spec clutch. just cuz its exedy doesn't mean its high performance. and that act is probably overkill for street driving but itll be mad strong haha.
