Dealer work

Dealer work

Alright, So its time that I have my big maintenance done. Timing belt, water pump, belts, etc. So I called Champion Toyota today (Off of I-35, for those that know the area.) And was quoted 349.99 for the Timing belt change, and a water pump inspection. Another 250.00 if the water pump needs replacing and all my accesory drive belts for 65.00. Does anyone know how long a water pump will last usually? My car has 144XXX miles on it, and none of this work has been done. So I figure if I get this done now, then my car will be good for another 100k. Has anyone gotten their belts done at a dealer? If so, was it done in one day?

get it done.

and the price is reasonable according to book times (+1.5 hour at least for the water pump and then, they may also do the cam seals as well, not sure what that dealership does)

but if you go to an independent mechanic, it could be cheaper

Well, I have reasons for going to a dealership. For one, I know all the parts being used are toyota parts, and for two, I don't think I'll be able to afford all of this at once so I want to put it on a care card and let it ride for a few months.

Not a bad deal at all. I would go for it with pump and accessory belts. Also mine was done in one day.
