Depends can you weld? One side of the cat is welded to the Y pipe but it is fairly easy to cut off and replace with a universal one and a flange. Otherwise you would have to buy a new Y pipe from the dealer they are very expensive but on ebay sometimes good deals can be had.

i think its literally 2g's from toyota for a new cat/ypipe (since it comes as one piece).

The most cost effective way would be to unbolt the ypipe from the headers and the mid pipe, cut the cat off correctly...possibly weld on a flange to the end of the ypipe and then fit on a aftermarket cat in between....like what Midias said.

Sense I have no idea if you are cali or V6 or I4 here are a few options. For the V6 both eastern and magnaflow make direct replacement V6 Y pipes they run between 250 - 400 dollars. For the I4 you have a similar choice. I have seen both stainless Y pipes and Aluminised it is up to you for where you live and how much you want to spend. The picture of the V6 pipe below is the magnaflow version I found it on ebay here is a link for both V6 and I4.

I like it better than this one from eastern. But they do say "This will NOT cause your engine light to go off. This will do the same job as your stock converter and at the same time flow much better"

But it is also designed to work with cali emissions so what can you do.

The magnaflow y pipe better than stock? Seems to not have the restrictive ass kink like the stock one has, then again hard to see for sure with just that one pic
