What do you guys use to hold coins in the car?

One glaring thing missing from this car is a coin holder. I end up putting coins in the top section of the center seatrest but they move around whenever I lift up the top to get to the bottom section which is annoying. Does anyone have anything they bought that fits in the top section and holds coins nicely? Or any other solution?

I have a neat trick. I use a ceramic honey pot and place it on the passenger floor. It has a heavy base and doesn't slide around or tip even when driven aggresively around corners. It's easy to reach over and grab change for tolls or burger king drive through. May not be the prettiest but its functional. In a pinch you could put something similiar in the center storage bin, but I use that for all kinds of other things-- cell phone, gum gloves etc. The top armrest holder is all but useless for anything except maybe business cards. It's just tough to get to while you are driving.

That solution sure doesn't help much when you have a passenger sitting there plus it sounds kind of hard to reach over to get to.

I was disapointed with this lack of option as well and being canadian and all i have to deal with a $1 coin and a $2 coin as well so we get alot of coins.

I needed a solution so I tore a page out of my dads book of tricks.

I use a coin pouch its a little leather pocket and it has 2 metal strips that run threw the top when you squeeze the metal tops together ( AT THE SIDES) the pouch opens up.

i dont know what its exactly called if you cant follow my explanation but you should be able to find these things at any department store wallet or purse section.

as for mans change pouch - purse should run you $5

fits neatly in the armrest top console.

Sounds like an okay idea but I was really looking for a coin holder that organized the coins. Like a tray that you could drop in quarters, dimes, etc into their holes and that would fit into the armrest top console. Gotta be something sold somewhere that could be trimmed perhaps to fit.

I bought two paperclip holders from Office Depot. It's round in shape and you can pick either silver or black color. It fits in the upper storage of the armrest. But to prevent it from sliding around when I open the armrest, I used those double sided tape and taped it to the side. I left the second one in the centre console for other junks.

I bought a coin holder at advance auto and it is a dual coin holder, the perfect place to put it is in the back part of the upper middle console. If you squeal it in that part of the console it will stay there and then you dont have change rattling everywhere.

simple and effective (at least for me)...

asked my girlfriend for one of her APS film containers... and voila... I stick it in the bottom part of the armrest... I too agree that the top is pretty much useless... things just rattle around too much

Film containers is what i use on my cars as well. Seems to work well. I actually have a color arrangement - red cap for dimes, yellow cap for nickles, and black for quaters.

I use the upper portion of the center console. It is very annoying though because things fall out of it when you open it up to get in the bottom half, I have lost many things into the back seat from that stupid thing. I was actually thinking about starting to throw them into the bottom of that compartment under the stereo where the other outlet is. Not sure what any of these are called sorry.

I'd buy a good coin holder from you that fit the top center storage area and didn't move around or rattle much. It would have to separate the different coins and not lose them when lifting up the armrest. That's a tough feat. You'd sell tons of them.

OK I guess I have the best way to hold coins. My mom has an old suburban that we are getting rid of and it has a coin holder that has the despenser thing to give out the coins, so I just took that out and put it in my car. Its great!
