Tabasco's new organs for 2004

Postby shidosha01 » Mon Jun 21, 2004 12:41 pm

The work is finally done. Although I don't think it will ever be. :)

After 4 months planning and 3 weeks in the shop "tabasco" is finally running on a 10psi pulley. I have to drive 1000 miles before 6/24 to dyno tune and I must say the hard long work has really paid off. Example... now @ 30% throttle in 5th gear it pulls like the way it was in 2nd and 3rd before the work was done. :o

I'll try to take better pics but you can see the latest ones under my signature.

That pic in your cardmain can't do justice at all.

Luckily, last Saturday I was there at the shop along with RayCarlo to witness the "monster"....breaking in.

Never have thought powerful and beautiful could be in the same sentence, but hat off for the "tabasco"..

Keep it up for the job well done, bro.

Can't wait to see it ruins other car at the MIR this coming Saturday.

I know that forged pistons would make a sever knocking noise before they warm up... do yours do that? did the knock sensors go nuts??? PM me the info.. I have an extra block sitting at my house that I was going to take and bore out, and get forged pistons, and possible a forged crank shaft.. but I couldn't find all the forged components.. PM ME!!!!

The pistons are JE Pistons. Knocking is always zero at idle and is not too high when boosting at 10 psi. I will not mash on the pedal during the break in period and until I get it dyno tuned.

Extra special thanks to the following people who have and are continuing to help me with the project:

No severe knocking sounds when warming up. Although there is a severe whining sound even at low throttle 20%-30%.
