Since he obviously works in the industry... hahaha

I'm thinking about the Eclipse EQ2102 EQ

Any other recommendations?

there is every need for a DQT.... it does the processing in the digital domain. Its a thousand times easier to mold the sine wave that you want by just adjusting 1's and 0's rather than attempting to physically move the decibals up and down and keep them all within 3db's.

you will be thouroughly impressed with the 2102. HOWEVER i must say you need a VERY experienced person with an RTA to tune the system properly. Not to mention its easier with 2 people. Word to the wise though, tuning takes an honest 20 hours. In 1 hour increments, do not try to do it all at once, listening to wooble tones will drive you nuts...no pun intended from the other string of posts. i myself will be buying the DQT. Its worth the money. But the mark up that eclipse has is absolutely insane, i know you get a sick deal on that, if you need a deal on the DQT let me know, we are dealers.

P.S.
Just ordered my AVN =0)

It's sort of funny... my friend just told me the same thing about the 2102... he gave me the funniest look when I asked him for it... "THE BIG ONE!?!?!" lol I don't think I have that much money to blow on the navi and the tuning of the damn 2102 =\ Plus I heard the Navi w/o an external EQ on the same setup as me... it sounded like ass lol (FOr once, thank god a civic was there) plus he sold his last few units when I got back to his shop in the afternoon  But it did save me quite a sum of change. I think I'm happy with a pretty damn good sounding internal DSP after seeing the amount of havoc it'll wreak after getting the damn EQ2102. Anyone local knows that I don't like gettign crappy stuff then upgrading again and again later... I get good stuff and upgrade to better stuff until I find out I can't afford it

maybe I should just grab this... LOL ya right =P

Hmm... maybe a roadtrip to mass this summer =P hahahaha

I'm gonna order the EQ2102 (since it's free lol) and have it sitting around... I'll probably keep the 8454 due to it's better internal capabilities when compared to the damn AVN. I can live without a screen/navi in my car... I had one before and it was a bad experience... x_x POS CLARION.

if you use an outboard EQ, it can REALLY help where the avn lacks. We just finished switching out an av8132 for the avn in a comp car thats got like 30 grand in it. Avalon =0) at least he has a 1mzfe =0) I would still suggest to get the AVN

yes we have........definatly sounds incredible, if you are not going to do the EQ, you will be VERY pleased with just a 8454, you know saying "just" is such an oxymoron.

you'll be pleased, i mean its not dehp-4600 =0p
