Those HIDs look nice and bright 8) I love the color in the pics, if I ever got HIDs that's exactly how I'd want them to look!

not the best brand i'd recommend...but what ever floats ur boat. USE casper capsules..and u will save a LOT of oncoming drivers with your GLARY lights. One reason HID were banned cus a lot of people were installing them wrong and this lead to a lot of GLARE excaping from the bottom side of the reflector.

glare problems...

Postby bluesolara » Mon Apr 26, 2004 12:58 pm

Hey "hey!" haha...

wassup guys

Congratulations on your HID purchase...so awesome isn't it?

alrite...since we have reflector housing, the light from the bottom of the bulbs will be reflected upwards, and that's why there's all that glare,... (i.e. 3rd picture) When you shine it on a wall, you'll see that there is a cutoff, but everything above is lighted also...unlike the bimmers and audis, they have projectors...they have almost no glare....

anyway..the shielf kinda blocks off the lights from the bottom of the bulb, therefore, giving you a cleaner cutoff, and easier for the oncoming drivers that gets "blinged" by your headlights...quite dangerous...

also...aim your headlight down a little, this way you don't get too much attention from the cops, and you'll get more USABLE light right in fron of you...

good job!

God bless

Kevin=)

p.s. want to post my pics too now...
can someone teach me how?

Hey in responce to your question this dude explained it well....

^^ what he said...but i don't believe any non-projector base will have a
__ / -- (Z pattern if thats a word??) cut off. Glare is glare..as it sounds..its light escaping from the bottom of the HALOGEN meant housing using HID bulbs to emit light. There are those who buy shields and blacken the shield so as to prevent glare, but glare will always be there...u can just reduce it. The best plug&play thing is casper capsules.
Look here:

Edit: i'm currently saving funds for IS300 reflectors with casper's.

Awesome, I know the feeling I have a HID kit made by HID Plus (Hella ballasts). Only problem is one of my lights burned out so be careful on how you installed it or what parts they used to make the kit.

I love the beam at night and I occasionally get flashed by people. (you'd be suprise with one beam working how bright it is compared with other cars but I rarely drive my car at night knowing I'm probably blinding someone with one light on)
