I wasn't aware that a LSD was a factory option. Anyways I have the Kaaz and its pretty ruff untill the oil warms up. On the track though it was bullet proof and I could pick up the throttle way early in the corners.

The Kaaz is probably the strongest and most aggresive LSD out there but it isn't as smooth as some of the others.

Thanks for the feedback Eric. What is your maintenance schedule like for the Kaaz LSD? Do you use the Kaaz gear oil? If not what brand do you use instead?

I just use brand name 80-90w for limited slips. StaLube makes a additive that helps with the chatter. I guess you should change it once a year or so.

Ive been thinking about this alot latly as well... did any sideways motor cars come with a lsd stock (toyota) Ive heard that the previous gen mr2 tranny mounts strait up to our motor... if it had lsd then that would be an option as well...?

Swing and a miss...

So this Kaaz is a viscous coupling and you think is would work better than the Quaife? I don't mind sacrificing a little comfort until the fluid warms up if it will launch/power through turns better.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

if your looking for launching power...

Then your best bet is a none other than a Detroit Locker!!!

Clutch plates, cone, worm gear they all are ok but not at all like a locker...

The Kaaz is a 1.5 way clutch type. The springs snap, crackle and pop untill the trans oil is warm. I woudn't want to drive a locker on the street, in a fwd I doubt you could turn it.

That was my understanding. The Detroit Locker is good for a rear wheel drive car. The Quaife is good in turns but not as aggressive as the Kaaz for launching. I sure wish I could find a Kaaz for an automatic... -JoeB

I would go w/ a locker but I think a mini-spool would be better for my application *sarcastic*
