I am 18 and agree. I would rather be around adults that have common sense and class than people my age. Most people my age irritate the living hell out of me.

I think there's just too much testosterone.

Let's just get more Chrystie & Missay love in this place and we will be much more peaceful.

everybody is entitled to their opinion, i agreed with that

but think about this, has ther been ANY gen2 owner who happened to post ANYthing that's considered even slightly offensive to gen 1 owners? well i havn't seen one yet
i believe that's why gen2 owner aren't very happy about the way some small portion of gen1 owner are acting

Fotodad should just suck it up! It happens to all car redesigns... older generation owners aren't always going to love the remake of their car.

Chill out!

Look > It happens> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=172118

Here is an example of the Old Maxima Gen Owners not liking the new 6th Gen 2004 Maxima that I also own.

Hey they don't like my car... so maybe I should cry about it and make a new Topic On that Forum................... just dumb

Exactly right, chuchurocket!

Some of you have said I need to lighten up or chill out. Look, it's not like I'm sobbing puppy-tears uncontrolably into my breakfast cereal. I respect a person's opinion when it is delivered in a respectful and constructive way. I'm simply confused (a state I'm often in) as to why SOME people take pleasure in bashing the looks of the redesigned Solara. I thought we were all on the same team here. I've looked at some of the modifications some people have choosen to do to their cars and felt like puking! But do I post a reply which is demeaning or derogatory toward that person's car? No. Because I know the owner of that car derives a lot of pride and satisfaction from their car. I see no reason to "express an opinion" which is hurtful. I'll either point out something I do like or not post anything at all.

NOBOOST,

Good point! Certainly disappointing behavior from a moderator.

... It's called freedom of speech and my right to voice my opinion!

Some people forget this is a forum!

Just doing my job, moderator of the sour grapes... sheesh, some people have the nerve! :x

And I still think this is a dumb topic because who cares if someone doesn't like the look of your car, stupid idea to start a flame war on a topic that has already been discused, so don't come to me on asking me "How I became a Moderator?"

You are lucky I'm not one of the past Mods that we have had here, I'm actually nice compare to some of them....they would've deleted your whole post by now, so take it how you like.

Ummm, if you did your job right, you would have deleted this post by now and stopped the other post dead in its tracks on the 1/1.5 forum. 700t should not have gotten away with what he wrote. Offensive posts should not be tolerated and neither should offensive people that just try to stir people up.

I totally agree, but we would just have another topic opened from these sensitive people. And another war about the Gen 2 Solara Re-design would start up again, many against 2 or 3 defending the design. Hey there are other Mods here too, but they don't choose to get involved because they know it's a sensitive subject. So, I'm not one to lock up topics, everyone should express themselves... I'll lock it if it gets out of hand and people start cursing at each other.

I'm getting PM's left and right on locking this topic, and people complaining about the Gen 2 owners such as Fotodad, and how Solaraguy should ban this guy (which I would never do or recommend!) ... blah blah blah but hey, everyone should be able to voice their opinion.

But, oh well, I guess I'll kinda stay away from the Gen 2 forum. I can see that this area is a bit more touchy on what is said here.

what's the big deal!?!?!?!

i don't like gen2, big woop, i'm not allowed to say it?
it's a friggen car!

i tell my friends i don't like some of their cars (especially honda owners), some of them tell me that too. hell-- one of them told me the gen2 looks better.

how many times did we have the posts about the lights on gen 1 vs gen 1.5-- no one cared this much!

there's no animosity b/w solara 1/1.5 owners and 2.0 owners, let's not start any

The point is not at all about not liking the car, the point is the celebration by one person of the sales disappointment of this Toyota car. Doing that here is purely stoking a message war.

Slingshot,

You (and others on this forum) obviously understand the original point I was trying to make and have reiterated it quite consisely and eloquently. Some people simply aren't "getting" it and probably never will. I'm not going to lower myself to making disparaging comments on a person's car just because I want to exercise my rights to free speech. Free speech for the sake of free speech is pointless. Free speech for the sake of constructive criticism is valuable, necessary, and should never be hindered.

That's a wrap for me. I think I'm going to find a Miaxima forum and post how much I hate the looks of their cars. Why? Because I can. That was sarcasm for those who thought I was serious.
