Four Channel Amps

Four Channel Amps

Postby LuckyVal3 » Wed Mar 17, 2004 10:46 pm

I need a input on a quality four channel amp in the $200-$300 range. It's got to be at least 50 watts a channel, no higher than 100 watts. I'm pushing the Infinity Reference series CS and 6x9's (honestly like the Reference 6x9's better than the Kappas and Perfects - bring on the arguments...)

I've heard Rockford's are terrible when it comes to anything larger than a two channel - any experiences?

What about Phoenix Gold? If so, which line?

Alpine, JBL, JL....

Please help me  , I'm dying fast - I need the help quick!!!!

i've never even heard of infinity amps so my guess is they're few and far between - but i could care less about matching name brands - i want the best 4 channel sq amp for around $300

who's using what to pump there components and 6x9's?

Infinity doesn't make amps. JBL does. Same company -Harman International- JBL amps are the sh*t. I have 2 for sale if anyone wants. They really should only be used to power speakers, though.

Isn't Precision Power the same as PPI? Either way, I've only heard the name - Does anyone have any experience? Also, what JL model is good?

jl 300/4
ppi amps are okay, if you can find an older model before dei bought them, it would compete with jl amps

jbl amps are not on the same level...

i have an Infinity amp sitting in my trunk. it's powering my subs.

JBL/Infinity/Harman Kardon are all the same company, just what ChrYstiE said.

imho, you dont necessarily need a super awesome amp to power speakers.

heck i'm running a fairly weak amps (JBL/Infinity) and i doubt you will be able to hear a difference in sound. [assuming if running the same setup]
