Are you going for SPL or SQ? Why did you sell the amp if you're thinking about buying another one?

spl? sq?i dunno? i sold it cuz he really needed an amp and i got it for pretty cheap. i sold it to him for 200, and i can get a brand new one for 190. (jbl bp600.1) i was also thinking of running a bp 1200.1 but i'm afraid of blowing my subs. ideas? the subs sounded amazing with the bp600.1

If you are going to get a fosgate dont get a new one, they are total garbage. The 1000BD is only 2ohm stable, and if you run your two subs completely in paralell, you will get 1ohm, and if you wire them in a series/paralell, you will get 4ohms. My suggestion would be a HiFonics BX1000D, they are a very respectable company (more so than Fosgate or JBL) and are still just over $200 on e-bay.
Nascar would be a sport if half the cars were driving the other direction.

ok so my cap exploded on me today because my garge was too warm, and i placed the cap next to the vent. if i cap can explode next to like 70 degree heat, won't it explode in my car? or was the cap just bad quality?

what i can say is that i know that when you take a cap out for storage, you should discharge it. the shop discharged mine when i changed my system by topuching a screw driver to the terminals, which made a popping sound and sent sparks flying everywhere. that's not the safest way, but i guess it is a way of discharging it. after the cap discharged it was remounted a bit later. everything worked fine.

ok so i wired my subs in myself and its very weird. I'm currently using my friends Alpine MRPM350 to power 2 of my Alpine Type R 12" 4ohms each. heres i how wired the set up Image

when i plug in the jbl bp600.1 it makes a farting or distorted sound. is there something wrong with the wiring? When i'm running the alpine amp everything is fine but i'm only running 175w in. when i'm running my jbl its 300rms.

should i also rewire into this? Image

if the subs are 4ohms dvc each

you got yourself the wrong amp... gotta do your researchhhh

you can either get 16ohms, 4ohms, or 1ohm
i think the bp600.1 does 600w rms at 2ohms 300w rms at 4ohms
4ohms is your safest bet

so wire up the subs to 4ohms
u can do it 2 ways, if you have it the way you said u have it, it should be fine... i guess double check it
