Alpine vs Pioneer Head Unit

Alpine vs Pioneer Head Unit

I've narrowed my search down to these 3
1. Pioneer Premier P750MP (Is there a big differance between Premier P750MP and P7500MP)
2. Alpine CDA-9807 (I know poeple always say not to buy the lowest model, is it better then the pioneer?)
3. Alpine CDA-9811 or 9813

Any one have an opion or other suggestions? I just want it to sound good, play MP3s and 3 pre outs. $200-$300 price range on ebay :D

Going through the search, it seams alot of people have Kenwood and alpine in dash monitors. Does anyone have a kenwood model the recomend?

I'd be staying away from Pioneer for a little while. According to a few "industry reps", Pioneer's defect rate has risen over 2% (!) in the last 2 years on their CD and MP3 players. Alpine is still a good option, and you can never go wrong with Kenwood's stuff.

And yes, I'm sure we'll see 30 people post that have Pioneer that love them and haven't had any problems with them, but when quality control drops like that *cough*SONY*cough* then market share and reputation usually does as well. And if you're buying off Ebay, when you most likely won't get a warranty anyway, why take the risk.

I just picked up the alpine 9815 of of ebay for $350 shipped, brand new in a factory sealed box and it lists for $500. Sell 2 All is a great ebay vendor with even better prices. I'd recommend checking them out.

I have only owned alpine and pioneer, In my first two cars I had alpine and I am currently running a pioneer. I personly prefer the pioneer because 1 it's not made in Canda , and overall I think they are better sounding but thats just my opinions.

Alpine's are the best, but they break. I work customer service at CC, trust me, I know. The #1 problem is that the mechanism that tilts the faceplate stops working, #2 is that the idiot that owns it blew the onboard amp, or #3 it won't power on. I rarely see them back but I always see Kenwood's back. Now those are a piece. But buy an extended warranty, don't do any physical harm to it, and you're set.
