Need Help with Dome Light Fuse

Need Help with Dome Light Fuse

Postby carolyndickinson » Mon Jul 18, 2011 7:47 pm

Let me set the stage here....
1. I'm new here.
2. I never blog
3. I bought a 2000 Solara SLE about a year ago. (Happy)
4. It didn't come with a owners manual or a repair manual (I forsee many visits to this site in my future..LOL).
5. Dome light is out. And when I say out, I mean out. I have fuses on hand and want to rule out the fuse before I go buy a new bulb.
6. Apparently I'm not to bright, because it took me a month to locate the fuse box. Really, behind a coin holder?
7. The diagram does not clearly say "Dome". So which is it?

Anyone?

8. Can anyone tell me where I can get download or view online an owners manaul for my vehicle so I don't have to come back here everytime I need to change a fuse?

welcome!

if you want you can go here:
http://www.toyota.com/camry/

and at the bottom there should be a "for owners" tab
hover over it and then it should pop up a screen then click "owner's manual"

register if you haven't done so and then you should have access to the owner's manual

but just to let you know that the dome's fuse is also connected with the clock, trunk light, wireless remote locking, and...

whatever is on that list

that means if everything listed on number 15 isn't working then that means the fuse is whats causing the problem and needs to be changed with a 7.5 amp fuse

if not then the bulb is the culprit

however the fuse box you located is just one of the two fuse boxes.

the other one is in your engine compartment, near the headlights there should be a black box shaped like this:

the bracket labeled 15 should be the one you should replace and I think to the left from fuse 38 and 39 there should be this white tweezer thing provided to yank the fuse out

In my opinion I think you should go to the dealership and ask if they have the owner's manual available for purchase and buy one in case of emergencies!

hope this helps!
