18x9 +30 offset???

18x9 +30 offset???

Postby 20SoLaRa02 » Fri Apr 15, 2011 11:18 am

Hey everyone,

I know there is a lot of info on the boards and i have searched a bit, but i don't have that much time to do a full search. I found some rims that are 18x9 +30 offset with 245 45 18 tires. Does anyone know for sure if these will fit without to much issues on my car? I am lowered on tein/tokico combo. I'm pretty sure these won't work but i'd just like to confirm with someone here.

Thanks,
Michael

Tires definitely won't fit but the wheels themselves should, might need a 5mm spacer in the back though depending on whether you have rear drum or disk brakes. Will need fender rolling to minimize rubbing though.
If u can afford tires, go for it!

They will not fit with those tires, but the wheels should be very close to fitting if you are looking for aggressive fitment. You would have to be pretty low and probably use a 225/40 all around to make the fitment work. I had a 18x8.5 +35 on the rear of my first gen with a 225/40/18 tire and it worked well. So, in theory, that setup would be fairly close to that. t3chnique is right though, you might need a small spacer out back to clear the coilovers.

Aside from that, the rear fenders will need to be rolled flat (possibly pulled slightly) and you will need to run a few degrees of camber. Oh, and it will need to be LOW to pull it off! 8)

17 x 8.5
+40 offset
5 x 114 bolt pattern
225/45/17

Thanks

You would need to roll your fenders and it would spoke, and it would still rub a little lol.

running 18x9,+31 offset ssr gt2's on my rears. have trd springs, tokico blues with fenders rolled-no problems with rubbing. running 18x8.5.+48 on fronts. tires are 225-40 front, 235-40 on rears. don't see why they wouldn't fit on fronts.

Any way you can get a picture of the inner clearance ?

My Avalon has the exact suspension & fitment problems. I tried to run a 17x9 +35 Desmond Wise Sport with a 215/50/17 Kumho ASX and found out the hard way that I will need at least a 3 mm spacer to clear the rear. Its crazy how much more inner clearance there is on the front when compared to the back.

Image pic of outside-none from inside-but checked and there's about 1/4" clearance between the strut and inner rim lip.and yes, the front has way more clearance than the rear.
