After purchasing a set of kaminari kits pcs., has anyone successfully painted the kit with matching paint without professional serviecs but purely DIY at home with store bought paint? Second question if so was the paint say DWP?

You can probably find a shop in your area that will mix factory matched paint.
Most will even premix and load it in an aerosol can for you. So if you're good
with a spray can, check it out. Usually it's less than $20 a can.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

My rears are sprayed by can... I forgot how many coats I did. When I was doing it I was just hoping for the best lol. If not there is always re-sanding.

BTW I think it's awesome that your putting a kit on your gen1 vert...
Also, if you have the full kit put on the black rear center valence for now till everything else gets painted. Makes a difference with Just that on temporally while waiting for the rest of the stuff to be painted.

up close, im sure anyone can tell its not perfect. in a pic, nobody can tell if its perfect. its all about how comfortable you as the owner are with the end result. me, personally, i'll let the paint shop do a 3 stage DWP so it matches perfectly. DWP is not black, it is a complex 3 stage paint with a pearl finish. it's not easy to duplicate if you don't know what you're doing.
