Suspension?? Problem...

Suspension?? Problem...

Postby I113GAL » Sat Feb 26, 2011 9:23 am

Hi all
I just put on some sportmax 17" wheels the other day... The tire size is big 225/55/17 The front ones had no rubbing issues. The rear were rubbing top of the springs 1/4 spacer fixed the issue... Everything was fine for the first two weeks. I was pulling into my apt. the other day. It has those stupid round curbs you go over, and from the front passenger side of the car I heard a loud bang. Sounded like metal hitting metal from the suspension?? I dont know too much about this but I looked everything over and it all seems okay... Now everytime I go over a deep pot hole or a sharp bumb I get that loud BANG even at slower speeds... Not too sure what this could be any advice or input would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Do you get that loud bang only in your front suspension? Both in the front or just one? If you're strut didn't blow it's most likely to be the strut mount.

Yeah its just the front right that makes the noise. Happens when going like 15-20mph over a sharp bump... Im not too sure what to look for though.

Make sure the mounts are tight. Check your nuts.
Trust me, I'm a technician.
