So thats it???
All you need is the 3.3L block with the oil passagways blocked to make a 3MZ/1MZ hybrid???

Nothing else involved other than that???

I would definitely recommend the hybrid over the full 3mz swap. The 3mz has a number of extra issues, including throttle by wire, that many think kind of sucks. If you were to do a full swap, then I think the best way to go would be to get a hole car or a front cut or something so that you get the ECU and wiring harness. And don't forget the key. The key has to match the ECU.

Good luck.

Tomorrow I might be able to get a good view of the VVTi oil passage.
I am an Auto/ Diesel Tech. student and there is at least one 3mz at the school.
I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I took a look at it.
We'll see.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Yes.
You use everythin' from the 1MZ for the hybrid.
You just use the 3MZ bottom end and head gaskets.

Hello ALL,
I am new to this forum so firstly thanks to everyone for all your input. I was doing some research and came across this thread, i apologize for bringing an old thread back to life like this, but it seems to have died midway through what could be a very big asset to many. Has anyone completed the hybrid swap. Is the guy still around that was building the 3mz engine parts necessary for the swap. Any input greatly appreciated. thanks

Hey, sorry for bringing up this old thread, has anyone done this succesfully thats still around, Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Is the guy still around that was said to be modding and selling the 3mz parts needed for the hybrid engine install? Thanks for any and all replies!
edit- Im sorry for the semi-double post, when i made the first one there was a delay in the pop-up message saying that a moderator had to approve the message, so when i didnt see the post and couldnt figure out why i foolishly assumed it just didnt complete when i hit the submit button so i attempted it again and then saw the admin aprroval message. sorry about that and thanks for everyones help

I'm willing to sell my 3mz block that's already blocked and ready to go.. all you need to do is get some good 1mz heads and assemble it. I have alll the gaskets (except the intake gasket cause i gotta use those for my 2mz) lmk if anyone is interested in buying it :)
