FS: XERD Long-Tube Headers

FS: XERD Long-Tube Headers

Postby akora12 » Sun Feb 20, 2011 1:40 pm

Only set of long-tube headers ever made available for the 1MZ-FE. These were recently welded to seam up two small holes the previous owner had. I've owned the OBX and JPP headers, and these were by far better than both in build quality and design.

Reduced price! $500 shipped. :o

what are the benefits of these over the obx headers?
what about for an NA application? do i still lose low end and gain in high end? if so how much overall
do these still use the factory cats?
im also assuming that these are direct bolt on, would i still need the o2 simulator?
sorry for the noobish questions,
Charley

These have an EGR hookup with an included block-off plate that can be removed.

The headers should maximize performance over other kits since they are a long-tube setup. Basically, there are no additional bends or merges to deflect flow. For a N/A application, you may lose a small amount on the low end, but make up for it on the high end. Boosted applications should see gains throughout the powerband.

The XERDs have no cat so you'll have to run an o2 simulator or antifouler to get rid of the CEL, but performance will be gained. These are a direct fit to the 1MZ-FE.

I'm really tempted to buy these... my only concern is that i'd like to be able to attach a high-flow cat and I'm not sure that I can put one on the down pipe and have it work appropriately. If I remember correctly, the cat converter sits on the Y-pipe, which these headers replace entirely.

So the buyer made out with you and you gave him the headers?
If that's how you're dealing...what do I have to do to get your race motor?
