Short ram intake question.

Short ram intake question.

Hello everyone!

Ive SEARCHED THE FORUM FIRST BTW and didn't find what I was looking for!

So anyways I'm getting a Injen short ram once I get the money together which isn't hard, but I was wondering if there are any problems with having it. Like could it effect the reliability on my 2000 toyota solara with 183xxx on it? I don't think it will, but I need to get a couple of opinions first.

If installed properly, which is really not hard, there shouldn't be any problem. It will not even change anything except for the sound lol. Oh yeah, make sure your filter is oil though.

I'll search on how to keep it oiled and maintained. Your right I don't think it would be to hard even if done right, I'm pretty mechanically inclined. But isn't there a third hole that should be covered up with a rubber grommet?

Oh yeah they sound beast. I also already have a lead foot from my exhaust

There are two large (10mm?) connections for the PCV lines and on small (4mm?) line that also connects to the Injen.
It's an easy install, and a fun Reliable upgrade.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Why do the intakes need to be oiled anyways? Are the tiny little particles that the oil catches that important? All i've heard is that the oil gunks up the MAF sensor.

^Hence why you'd pull the filter off to clean/re-oil it, and allow it to set/dry before reinstallation.

You should all get AEM Dryflow filters. No oil, lasts forever, more efficient and easy to clean.

The Injen will not affect your Toyota's reliability, I had it for over a year now.
