Solara drivers Airbag Icon came on without any impact
My drivers side icon went on for no apparent reason. It stays on solid. It doesnt flash. I used the electrical outlet for a tire air compressor and i moved the passenger seat over the weekend. That is the only thing I can think of that happened unless a wire came loose. I did several searches and followed the TC/AB drum. It flashes a 54 code sequence but goes back to solid light after the ground is removed. Anyone know any tricks to reset it to go out? Any other advice? Thanks in advance.

I usually dont have the seat belt on when attempting to get rid of the code. It flashes a 5 than a 4. The previous owner told me it once came on when he had groceries in the passenger seat but then went off. I have tried the ab/tc method with speaker wire several times. It gets the cruise and other lights to flash. It gets the air bag icon to flash but after the wires are removed the icon remains lit.

I dont usually drive the car while trying to remove the icon. In general I wait a few seconds from start up to driving.

I used a air compressor in the electrical outlet this weekend before the air bag light came on the next day. I also moved both seats a bit on Saturday before the light came on the next day.

From searching online the code 54 may indicate something with the passenger seat

yea i would suspect some loose connection near the passenger seat.
my airbag light in the dash came on a few days ago, i thought "oh crap here we go" but to my surprise, the next day when i got in the car and started it, the light went off and has been normal ever since. this leads me to believe that it is reset every time the car is turned off, but i dont know for sure. it never hurts to try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and then hooking back up. i would definitely check all wiring under the seats or even up under the dash, just turn everything to off and start moving things around and then start the car and see if you get lucky lol

My light has stayed on for 6 days. What a pain in the neck. I have tried moving the seats several times and wiggling some things. No luck so far. Is there only that big yellow connector under the seat? Or are their more connectors? How does the seat belt pretensioner effect it? The tensioners on both my seat belts seem to be lacking a bit in how they return the seat belt.

Did you find the code reading for yours? Mine is a 5 then a 4 flash deal which seems to be something with the front passenger seat

does the car have the airbags in the sides of the seats?
mine does.
i would check all wires associated with that. careful, its usually recommended to take it to the shop for airbag issues.
but my car, i would disconnect the battery, un plug and re connect any plugs for the wires associated with the seats airbags and sensors. other than that, i would take it to the shop. i had a 99 ford explorer with an airbag light on in the dash and the dealer fixed it for less than $50 and told me it was something like a loose plug under the passenger seat. thats why i say check connections first, then take it to someone who has the means to troubleshoot this system.

Mine is a 2002. I believe it has side air bags but I dont know where those side wires are. All I tried to mess with was a big yellow plug. The plug seemed fine but the plastic clear round thing that connects to the seat seems loose

I had turn on on me when i drove through a puddle. I just reseted the ECU by removing the battery and stepping on the brakes for 15sec.

It was a slight malfunction, but it was fine after that.
