IMO
i doubt the exhaust hanging 2 inches lower would make so much of a difference and how about all other cars which have the pipping mounted higher from factory?

i think pipes should all be adjusted higher on any solara's riding low. if we were so worried about pipes intruding the cabin then how about front end collision? riding low we may end up under an SUV or larger cars rear bumper eitherway so...

once vehicle is modified...original design does not always work anymore. This is one of them

It was stated by Brian (PhreakdOut) awhile ago and he does (did?) exhaust designs for TRD/Toyota.

I had the same problem with my OBX. The rear resonator would rub on speed bumps and it looked ugly. I have a custom 3" cat-back now and its nicely tucked up with no rubbing issues and doesn't look like its going to fall off like the OBX. I'll throw up some pix soon.

Circuit sports makes polyurethane exhaust hanger bushings that would tuck the piping up some. A lot of times, the stock rubber bushings are old and worn, causing them to sag. I know that is the case on my wife's Solara with a GReddy exhaust. Another common trick is to use hose clamps on the unused holes in the exhaust hanger bushings to tighten them up and raise the whole system- pretty common among 240 guys, and it's a little cheaper than the CS mounts.
