New guy here

Postby supraguy17 » Mon Dec 06, 2010 4:05 pm

Hello, hi, hey, hola, bonjour, and the other 3276489 ways to say hello.
New Solara owner here :P first Toyota ever actually  ]My brother is a proud Supra owner though so I have a little background about the yota.

I just got her maybe two weeks ago from my aunt who abused the crap out of her.
If it wasn't for the sticker in the corner of the window itd still have the original oil in her. I had to invest in tires the minute I picked it up, the passengers front and rear tires were showing the steel belt through and there was a gouge in the tire that she didn't even notice!!

1999 Solara SLE V6 automatic, just hit 115k yesterday. Bone stock, but I have some big plans for her.
Goldish/Tanish paint? hahah apologies! Tan leather interior.
JBL premium sound system

As of right now I only have done a few things to her and it is winter time up here in Maine so until April comes around nothing major will be going on.
Last week I installed some Sylvania ulta-bright cool blue hi/low bulbs, took the tail lights out and tinted them, then after putting them back in I decided I wanted to debadge the trunk. Only other thing right now is blue interior neons above driver and passengers feet area. As of next week I plan on tinting the front windows at 20% and the rest of the windows will be at 5%, also ordering some cool blue foglight bulbs or ultra white... Im also debating on buying a Weapon-r intake and putting it in right now for $128 and then waiting for spring to get my exhaust or just wait till spring to do both. The exhaust I have been strongly considering is the Megan OE-RS catback, found one around $400 shipping included. Other plans are to get a set of nice rims and tires, struts and shocks, cross drilled slotted rotors, possibly lowered? The roads up here in Maine are terrible so who knows..
Eventually down the road I would love to supercharge it as well...

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions much appreciated, Thank you! :D

Pictures are from my phone, sorry about the crappy quality

Welcome. You can't complain when someone gives you a car lol! BTW I really hope she changes her oil relatively frequent. Don't want any sludge in your engine. And the drop is mandatory. Roads here in Montreal are the crappiest besides NYC in North America, and I'm dropped with Tein and the ride comfort is still there. Enjoy your ride!

Welcome! You're in Maine, eh? That's really lucky for you. Gabe (trd4life) lives just outside Portland. He is one of only a handful of awesome members on here who is a great source for parts. In fact I drive up to Maine every few months to get work done by Gabe.
