Acura cl lip questions

Postby mig0s » Mon Nov 22, 2010 3:00 pm

I'm looking to buy an acura cl lip as some members here have made them fit into gen1s (toy1mz, napster, etc?). So first of all, how did you guys manage to fit it? Like what are the modifications and what are the process to make it fit? And secondly, the cheapest one I've found is on ebay, for 70$+70$ shipping :S. I gotta make them ship to Vermont and go pick it up cause their shipping for Canada is 160$ :O Where did y'all buy it?

Thanks

toy1mz and I have done it the same way, we put brick edging from any gardening store you mount one side to the bottom of the bumper basically making your own small lip up front then we got the cL lip and mounted it on top of the brick edging, i just put two screws on each side and its mounted on there and wont come off, and i can take it off wheneve i cant make into a driveway. :)
hope that helped.

By brick edging do you mean the skinny metal strip that holds the bricks? How did you mount it to your bumper did you screw them?

Sorry been busy.

But yes. BRICK EDGING from Home DEpot. CAlled diamond lok.

Screw it to the bottom of your bumper. Then you screw the cl lip on top of that.

You can search threads started by me in the picture& video section and see how its done. I guess i gotta do a DIY soon but i rather have people find new lips to install on the solara.

^^
By eyes, I think the 98-02 Honda accord lip would be close to fit the Solara. Something like this:

Any one ever attempted this?

yeah i dont like honda but that is a clean machine haha... but yeah the reason im not really into the cl lip is cause you have to screw it in from the front and i dont wanna have screws showing so if something fits closer so i could screw it from the bottom id rather do that

Be the pioneer that you seek. Kevin (Toy1mzfe) happened upon his discovery by accident. We'll only find more solutions by being the ones to try the possibilities out for ourselves.

"napster_atk" Can you input on this because staring at your photographs doesn't show any screws.... I want that flush look.
