I bought the grill & the kit from Bigsley18. I wish I could share to all how to make it though.
It seems very straight forward. Just cut everything out of the grill but the frame, sanded the edge, insert gutter grill, painted and done, I guess.

If anyone interested, I'd take the close up pic of the grill.

dang thats a nice hood. i too have a black solara and i was thinking of getting the VIS hood. i also like your grill. can you post more pics of the hood and the front shot of your car. thanks

calm down yo. they sell that type of mesh at home depot. its pretty cheap. ill split a sheet with you if you want.

ok i kno this is a dumb question, but what's the benefit of CF? is it just less weight, and if so, how much lighter is it? also, does it sort of tear and break apart like fiberglass (like on corvettes), or dent and bend like regular sheet metal in an accident?

It would tear apart. Metal dents because of it's malleable property, but carbon fiber would crack and split and rip and all the fun stuff.

From what i understand, Vis hoods would crack/split if you were to get into an accident. There's another company that makes cf hoods called fiberimages. Thier hoods are not suppose to crack or break. I've seen demonstrations where they drop a bowling ball on the hood and it didn't break . I have a buddy that had one on his 92 civic hatch. He got into an accident and the hood just bent a little. Not that much damage. The only problem with thier hoods are that the clear coat fades away much faster than the Vis hoods.
