actually, the manual ECU's cruising speed fuel efficiency is good because the amount of fuel injected into the cylinders are not in proportion with the engine RPM.

at 70MPH im at 2400 RPM
This isn't looking at the gauge either. I used my Scan Gauge to record it.

at 80MPH I am at 2800 RPM

1MZ + E153 = 0.731 x 3.933 = ~2800rpm at 70mph

1MZ + A541E = 0.735 x 2.814 = ~2100rpm at 70mph with torque converter lockup (less than 20% throttle for a specified time) or ~2300-2400rpm unlocked (more than 20% throttle)

Stock SLE V6 205/60/16s used for both.

2001 V6 Auto and I'm about 2900-3000 at 80mph, don't remember exactly for 70mph however...
