coolant leak???

couple of weeks ago i had a coolant flush and put in toyota red in my 2000 solara...took her on a road trip made it there and back...i flew to florida last week and havent checked my hood in awhile i return and find i have no coolant in my car...now my mechanic only put in one gallon of the red but something told me he was supposed to put the whole 2 gallons, he claims only one was needed but now i think he dont know the the hell hes tlking about, what should i do guys??? and do you think its a leak? because he said the tubes and hoses were all good...

If you didn't find a puddle, or any obvious residue, you don't have a leak.
Just fill it up, keep an eye on your temp, and check the fluid level frequently.

Toyota red needs to be mixed with distilled water.

where do i get distilled water??? and how much do i put in???

You don't absolutely have to use distilled.
You can buy it at any grocery store, by the gallon like drinking water.
The mix is 50/50. Half water half coolant.
Or you can buy the coolant premixed at any auto parts store, but you
have to make sure it's compatible with the Toyota stuff.

Fill the reservoir pretty full, a little above the FULL mark.
You can squeeze the upper hose to pump some of the coolant into the system.
Start the car and let it warm up. Keep an eye on the level and fill as needed.
You don't need to worry about overfilling, the extra will not hurt anything.

i filled it up this morning i didnt use any distilled water because the guy at toyota said this one doesnt need water ill warm the car up later and see how the temperture looks on the dash thanks for the help

I guess the Toyota coolant is premixed then.
Why is that hose not connected? Or am I seeing things?
That should definitely be attached to the water neck.
Let us know what happens.

What and where is the water neck? Did my mechanic do something wrong with the flush?

The water neck is where the upper radiator hose attaches on the engine.
That small hose should attach right below the radiator cap.

Do you have a v6 or a i4? That^ is for the v6.

If you have a i4, the radiator cap is on the radiator, and the hose should
attach in a similar location there.

It's probably connected correctly then.
I was thinking that it was a v6, in which case
the hose would be routed differently.
