2001 Toyota Solara V6 or 4 Cyl?

I want to buy a 2001 Toyota Solara and I was wondering should I get a V6 or a 4 Cylinder? I have never owned a coupe or compact car before so I wouldn't know if a V6 is better or a 4 cylinder engine for every day use on the highway and stuff.

Thank you.

In my opinion, it's all up to your personal preference. Both the 4 and 6 cylinder are great cars, but like I said, it's whatever floats your boat. :)

Get the 2002 4banger model instead. The 2AZ was light years better than the 5S-FE (trust me, I owned one) and the 2AZ with VVT-i can keep up pretty well with the 1MZ V6.

Also something to consider, both the 5S-FE and 1MZ were prone to sludging if not properly serviced, the 2AZ did not have this issue.

What do you want to do with it? Do you need a low cost daily driver, or do you want to supercharge it?
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

I love my 2002 4banger vvt-i, you couldn't even tell that it wasn't a v6. it flys right past my friends v6 Malibu. only thing is no supercharger is currently available for it so if you're thinking of modding go with the v6 they're plenty more mods to choose from.

yes and no. remember that the 2azfe is also in the scion tc. so if you were planning building it up it would be easier to get parts.
