Please Help, Car gets stuck in reverse

When I put my car into reverse the car locks up and stops moving. I can drive forward but when I shift to reverse it move a few feet and stops again. Can this be my transmission?

It wasnt my trans. A bracket holding my claiper broke and the caliper was wedging into my inner wheel everytime i reversed.
