i always buy an extra of the stock parts before i ever mod anything. and that what my dad told me to :(, but so long as i dont destroy the car value and able to keep it in a decent running condition.

There's no point to sawin' the lower half of the intake box.
You'll be suckin' in hot air from the engine bay.
You can remove the snorkel to get more air to the air box, cause there's an openin' near the fender, and the snorkel routes the air from the headlight area, but if you take the snorkel off, you'll have more air space to pull into the intake.

Well like the gap to the left of the intake and place the sheild there. Not around or infornt of it.

Try it but definitely use a heat shield or else its just sucking in hot air. Also maybe glue some wire mesh on the hole so you don't get any mice or cats or plastic bags sucked in...lol

Oki doki, and confused... how would a plastics bag get in if there's a filter still?? Do u mean the bag would fly in and just cover the filter?

OK, im back, so the intake came, fits just fine, i sanded it down and sprayed it to make it more heat resistance, and have a K&N cone filter on it, but the intake did not come with a heat sheild.... does anyone here know where i can good a pretty decent one? or a DIY guide or site?
thank you
