Keep missing 2nd gear... Drivin me crazy

If i go from first to second and im holding the shifter just a bit too much to the left it will miss second... and pull too far down... If i do it easy just a little to the left and down itll slide right in,. What is makin it goto the left and right toooo much.. I have brass bushings and a twm short shifter... I cant figure this out for the life of me.

somethings must really b effed up. You should never be able to go to the left of 2nd, lol. How hard have u been pulling that thing?
