Don't do this (windshield wiper)

If you can't get your windshield wiper arms off, just keep pulling. The windshield actually extends much further down than you might think it would and putting a tool there to pry the arm up, will not only mess up the plastic trim there, but break the windshield. Warning! This took very little effort!
Fortunately, for me, this was a donor car, but given how hard the arms were to get off, I could easily have seen myself doing this on my wife's Solara at some point.

All you have to do is put alittle pressure on round part around the part where the shaft goes through, and the wiper arm will slide up.

I did this to myself before. It truly sucks, and I felt like an idiot. I did it to my maxima a few years ago.

It must be more common than we realize. I bet a windshield replacement company could verify how common it is. I think that even replacing wiper blades is a challenge simply because they are all different, and it requires a certain "skill set" just to read and understand the instructions.
