Missing Fuse/Headlight Issure

Missing Fuse/Headlight Issure

Postby Kfra315 » Thu May 27, 2010 1:57 am

I have an 02 V4 Solara and I'm trying to figure out some electrical issues I'm having. I'll spare you guys all the details but pretty much someone was working on my car and somehow detached the fuse box under the hood that clips on to the battery holder. I happened to see the box just hanging down one day when I was under the hood and after inspecting it I noticed that there seems to be a fuse that exploded right in the fuse box. The reason I was under the hood was because my passenger side headlight was out and the bulb wasnt the issue. When I noticed the fuse box I pretty much cleaned it out and replaced all the fuses except the missing one and the headlight started working again. Well its now 2 weeks later and my driver side headlight just went out. Unfortunately the cover for the fuse box is missing as well so I dont know what it is for and my headlight was working before with it missing. I appreciate any help you guys can give me with this and I gotta pic to show which one is missing. Also the contact in that fuse slot is missing so i dont even know how I'm gonna fix that

I'm almost sure that empty spot is supposed to be there. I think its a ground. It might have green paint on it? Did you replace both bulbs new? If they are originals or really old they go bad over time. Could be that the bulb just went out. But if you get a new one before you put it in check for any crossed, touching, or fried wires. I had an issue with the connector going bad to the headlight. They sell those parts at autozone, pepboys etc...good luck.

I'm really hoping the fuse is supposed to be empty. I havent switched the bulb with a new one because when I took the bulb out it was in pristine condition. I guess it wouldnt cost much too try it so I will. I was just wondering if someone with the same fuse box could at least take a look at it and tell me what the cover says that fuse slot is for. I'll try to new bulb tomorrow as well. I also noticed the backlight in my odometer is pretty dim as well so its definitely something going on with my electricals
