new(er) engine question
I tried searching, but didn't find an answer.
My mothers 2000, 4cylinder, automatic Solara has been given "about" two months to live by the dealership - she's got a hard knock in cylinder #1, and I have to agree, it's time for a new engine. With 210,000 miles on it, I offered to just buy her a new Camry (good deals on them now), but she doesn't want me spending the money, and she really likes her Solara.
I'm heading to the junkyard, where they have just received a 4cyl auto 98 camry hit in the rear, with only 89,000 miles on it - my plan is to drop the entire driveline and direct swap them.
My question is, is the 98 camry on the same subframe mount as the 2000 solara? If I have to pull the engine from the subframe cradle, will it direct swap into the solara cradle?
Thanks for the help in advance!
