Red's 2002 SLE is FS - $5800 obo :evilbat:
Hey guys,
So the time has finally come for me to part ways with the Solara. With graduation this past weekend I am officially leaving the country in less than a month to backpack around Europe. My e30 is VERY close to running, and with that being said, I NEED to sell the Solara to pay for this trip. Heres what you need to know:
The Basics:
-2002 SLE – Flame Red Metallic
-Purchased this car back in 2006 from Lindsay Lexus in Alexandria Va from a trusted family friend.
-2nd owner* (99% sure, but I don’t have the carfax) – if you want the VIN to check yourself, lmk
~130,000 miles (ONLY 45k on the motor, it was rebuilt – all internals replaced @ 85k because the PO somehow warped the originals)
-oil changed responsibly every 3000-5000, castrol gtx full synthetic.
Mods:
-Tokico Blue/Eibach Pro suspension (35k – still stiff)
-TRD RSB
-ASA JH8 Black/silver lip rims
-Greddy Evo II catback
-CP-e intake/black box – not tunable
-legal limit tint – think its 25% here in VA but I got it done 2 years ago so I don’t remember
-*for SG members only – I will offer this car with the badass sound system it has in it right now, craigslist doesn’t get the offer)
Audio:
Sound-deadened interior
Alpine CDA-9883 deck
Alpine 4x40 V-power amp – Alpine Type-R 6.5’’ components (doors) – Alpine Type S coax (rear deck) – 2 JL tweeters in custom pods behind headrests
Custom fiberglassed box (included anyways) **link to build thread – 2 12’’ Kenwoods - 3 farad cap – 2000 watt 2 channel Lanzar audio amp
Here is how she sits as of yesterday afternoon - its trashed right now and needs to be detailed (this weekend): (oh - and there is only minimal processing just to make defects visible, I was playing with my new 35mm f1.8 AF-s lense
)
There are two small dents in the hood from some dumb girl on a bike who ran into the side of my car while I was at a stop sign (theres a post if you want to search for it haha)
Consequently - when she hit me, her bike wrapped around and hit the front passengers side
stupid guard rail. again - search around on here if you want the full story
drunk jackass college student hit and run damage: *the line from the gasktank down is just dirt, not scratched
Again...
some douche driving a raised f150 was parked next to me ~1 1/2 years ago around thanks giving and proceeded to pull out and take a sharp right.... he ran over the front of my car essentially - but he was at least nice enough to leave his info...

*I'll try to get some updated interior pics up tomorrow
Now, I’ve struggled with what price to ask – after all, as we all know, the Solara is a unique car and once you start modifying it, it truly becomes unique. I have put the past 4 years of my life into this car and spent more time and money than I care to remember. So heres what I did – I took the KBB private party value for the car with 130,000 miles - there are that many miles on the tranny even if the motor was rebuilt. The range given is ~$6,000 +/- $500 roughly. Now, the present market value of the parts on the car if you were to buy them USED today is well over $1.5k. Given that this car has more than its fair share of physical defects from the hellacious nature of college parking lots the past 4 years, it is only fair to detract the value of the damage. A local shop quoted me around $2,000 to bring the car back to show-room condition. Keeping in mind that the car is mechanically sound and has low mileage on the motor – I feel that asking $5,800 OBO is reasonable. I am currently in Harrisonburg Va, but I’m from NoVa/MD so anyone in the area who is interested in meeting up to take a look/ride – send me a pm. Please, no lowball offers; I have clearly defined my price and the reasoning behind it. If you have any questions, want more pictures or car history info, send me a pm and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
I just want to add that I would MUCH prefer to sell this to an SG member so I know that it will be taken care of in the future and not run into the ground. Also, the car will be delivered to the buyer only after I have gotten to detail it one last time, and do a full mechanics inspection at the shop I work at.
