Clutch (start prevent) switch

Clutch (start prevent) switch

Postby bill3-1950 » Mon May 03, 2010 10:30 am

I'd love not to have to push the clutch pedal ALL THE WAY down to the floor just to start my V-6 5 speed '01 coupe. I disconnected the wire from the pedal and that disengages the starter all together.

Is there a way to either adjust this or remove this "feature". I realize that safety regulators don't think I'm smart enough to start the car in neutral but I also have a classic Mustang with a manual shift and I've managed not to hurt myself or the car starting it.

Thanks for any ideas.

I believe the switch is a simple ground switch, so try grounding the wire and see what happens

Or if it's an actual switch, just tape it down.

What he said... alarm shops put a jumper wire to the two wires on the clutch pedal.
