Hey y'all,

I recently read a thread where someone said that he bought a gen1 V6 AUTO and he's getting only 2.2k rpm at 70mph...

I have a 5 speed and at my 5th gear, 70mph, I get around 2.6k rpm.
Is that normal? What about you guys?

wow, 2.8 rpm? I'm surprised it's still running  Autos vs 5 spd won't run at the same rpm. That said...mines a tad bit off since the last owner put in white face gauges, I'll have hook up my OBDII scanner. IIRC it's about the same as you

I know that at 80 I'm at 3krpm. And at 45 I'm at 1750. So that means...about 2500 at 70mph. I'm auto and V6.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

I'm V6 Auto. Steady gas/speed @ 70 I'm running 2500. When I'm at 70mph with my foot completely off the throttle I'm @ about 2200 .

5speed 5th gear is shorter than auto 4th gear

it's normal to rev higher in a manual one highway

So does this mean that after all, manual is not that fuel efficient compared to automatics? :O
