Leaking Washer Fluid reservoir

I ran out of washer fluid today in my 02 SLE V6 and went to refill it. As I was refilling the reservoir ( it was almost full at this point), I looked down and saw washer fluid "squirting" out of the bottom of the car. I don't remember the car doing this in the past, does this mean I need a new reservoir ? Or did I just over fill it?
Any suggestions?
