ya you're right gabe. guess i assumed that since my 98 camry w/ 4-plug m/t ecu was non-transponder and both the 5-plug ones craig has ARE transponders, i thought that meant all 5-plug ecus were transponder ecus. obviously it's entirely possible they just changed to a 5-plug design in 99 or 00 along with other changes (such as the ability to flash transponder when keys are lost...)
