Solara System Upgrades

My plan for my 2000 Solara with the Stock JBL 6-Cd Changer, I plan on taking out the double din replacing it with a Pyle 6.5 inch screen, Below it I will have a high quality, CD/MP3 Alpine head unit, (model not yet choosen) under the drivers seat will be a Playstation 2, hardwired. I will replace the rear speakers, with Alpines, and the sub I have is the 4 coil 12 inch Type R in a Q-logic box. I have not yet decided on an amp yet...

any suggestions or thought would be greatly appreciated.

dont get a pyle screen they arent good.

dont use a q-logic box. build one yourself or get one made. i used to have two 12" type R's. they sound really good in 2.5 cubes ported per sub.

For the Type-R, go with a JBL BP300.1 It's 300W RMS, so is your sub if you wire it up for 2ohms. Best of all, it's not expensive and it's a really good quality amp. It runs very cool too since the whole body of the amp is a heat sync. The pyle screen is bad news, anything pyle is bad news. Go with the Apline IVA-D900. It's a great unit, gives you a 7" fully motorized screen so it flips in and saves you some room. It's plays CD\MP3 and it's satellite ready. Then with that PS 2, you can use it as a DVD player as well that can be shown through the screen.

Thanks for the amp suggestion, I will have to check that out, I got a connection at a car stereo shop see what kinda deal I can get.

My Solara has the double DIN (6 Disc CD changer) So i can stack the TV on top of the cd head unit. No need for the heater ac control mod.

Why? I plan on getting a fancy screen in the future right now I just want some thing to play some games on.

Mossy,

It sounds like a good plan to me. Just go with what you could afford for now, update as you go in the future.
However, since you plan to have the monitor in the dash, why not go with a indash DVD/CD/VCD/MP3 player instead of the Alpine cd/mp3?

Most Pyle monitor has two sets of video/audio inputs. And if you're into technology, get the carputer with GPS, ODB-II port ...

Enjoy your system.
