tricks for the cd player

I have a 99 Camry and I heard a few other storys like this too so...

Are there any tricks to get my cd player to work right? Sometimes I can stick a cd in and get it to play with no problem. Other times I gotta press eject and reload maybe 10 times before it works without skipping. Or I might have to press the brakes hard and put the car in reverse to get the player to work. So, does anyone have anyway to fix it?
