Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

Does this happen to you guys?

i just changed my struts and springs and now abs light is on. how do i find out which one went bad on the swap?

gotta jumper 2 specific pins in a diag connector (under the dash i believe), it will make the abs light flash some codes for you, then look em up.

don't bother trying to get the sensor from a dealer or even autozone/etc - too pricey. junkyards are the way to go on that.

Funny you should mention this. They were doing some work on the road near my house creating a one-road-thickness drop off from the road I was on to the newly "chewed up" road. When I went over this little drop in my wife's 1999 Solara, I got the same thing. It's a little unnerving really, knowing that it is perfectly dry and the slight drop in height is so small.

An additional note; the same drop off taken in my 2003 MR2 Spyder did not light off the ABS, so it's not all Toyotas.

Since then, they paved the chewed up section, making the road flat again and in the process fixing my wife's brakes! :D

my dad had an 03 sequoia with a weird abs/tcs. every other time he pulled into his driveway (which has about a 1" rise from the street and is otherwise pretty level and smooth) the ABS/TCS lights would flash, it would beep, and if you had your foot on the brakes, you could feel the pedal pulsate. it's not like he was going 50 mph into the driveway - more like 5-10 mph. very annoying, since there was absolutely no reason for the abs or traction control to kick in - especially when you aren't even pressing the brakes!

i would hope thats a over sensitive abs speed sensor or something like that, my solara has never done this and the brakes work great. (2002 sle v6)
