Stock talk about the Generation 1 and 1.5 Toyota Solara which were produced from 1999 to 2003.

Wrecked. :(

Wrecked. :(

Postby 99BlackSandv6 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 8:35 pm

So today on the way to lunch I slid off the road and kinda hit a sign.
All cosmetic damage to the Solara. I'll get pics tomorrow.
I'll be posting in the WTB section later, so if you have the parts I need,
Please help me out.

I didn't hit anyone and I'm not hurt. I just hurt the Solara, which sucks.
I'll rebuild it myself, no insurance coverage for this kind of thing.

Anyway, I'm pretty bummed out.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Glad you are okay, at least your ride is not a total loss and is still fixable.

Thanks guys.

I still can't believe it. I was going 55 in a 55 zone, and hit the
sand and cinders they throw down on snow. The rear end stepped out
and the tire dropped off the road, then I pulled it back on and hit more sand.
The front end clipped the sign and shot back over into the road, then the rear tagged the sign.
Overall the damage is minor, but the trunk area is messed up.
It's still perfectly drivable, but trunk will be a pain to fix.
Luckily the sheet metal is the only part that's hurt.

I know I got lucky, God was watching out for me. It could have been a lot worse.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Frank, I understand you aren't a religous guy. I have absolutely no problem with that.
I like to think of it this way though. It's like letting a kid burn themself on the stove.
After you have repeatedly told them not to do it, they still haven't learned.
But after they feel what it's like to get burned, they don't touch the stove anymore.
God kept me out of trouble time after time, with lots of close calls, and finally let me see
what it's like not to be so lucky. But he let me walk away.
He let me burn myself, so that I won't put my hand on the stove again.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Yeah, if the cash isn't a big issue, I might be adding some things. We'll have
to wait and see. I'm gonna crunch some numbers and try to find some parts.
Then I'll figure out what to do and not do. I'll be thinking about it though. :D

Anything you can talk to the town about? like idk not putting enough sand down or something? They might be able to do something for you if you're willing to deal with all the BS.
