a little over 3200 pounds i think, unless your convertible, then its well over 3400.

i went to autotrader website and it said under specs.
3230 or 3472 conv.

im assuming your talking about the car and not the engine alone, the engine alone i have no idea.

you want an estimate? or an exact number?

I would guess it to be around 300 or so, because it's heavy enough that you can't pick it up even with 2 people, but when it's sitting on a tire, you can pretty easily rock it and lift up one side of it when needed

Wait, two guys can't pick up 300lbs? Or is this an estimate in Kg. You're Canadian, so I'm guessing kg. Just for clarification.

1MZ is around 400 lbs.
3VZ is around 470 lbs
2GR is around 360 lbs

IIRC
94 Camry 3VZ 5 spd swapped - parted out 2009
92 ES300 3VZ 5 spd supercharged @ 300.8whp
99 Solara 1MZ 5 spd bone stock (not for long)

yeah, actually, I think eengineer might be closer as an estimate.

I was going to rethink and say it's probably closer to 350, but 400 I'd personally say less than 400 though, only because it's not too hard to move in terms of lifting one side of it, etc.

I didn't know the 1mz is that heavy of an engine, I read somewhere that the LS1 is around the same weight.

I'm surprised so many of you answered without asking the "obvious" question, which is:

What do you mean by 1mzfe? Does it include the transmission too? The alternator, the starter motor, A/C, what? I am in the middle of transplanting this motor into my Corolla, so I want to know what everything under the hood weighs, not just the block and heads and manifolds.

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer either exactly. I made a balance beam scale and weighed my 4age and 4agze motors and when the engine comes out of the Solara, I plan to weigh it the same way, but I am still a few weeks away from removing the Solara engine. If anyone is interested, they should keep an eye on my website: www.ozone1000.com.

I can tell you that the E58 transmission in my Corolla which is very similar to the one in the Solara weighs 110 lbs. My expectation is that the E153 weighs about the same. From searching online, I have found numbers of about 400 lbs for the 1mzfe, but just like here, no one mentioned what was included in that weight.

Ozone's estimate of the E153's weight is right. I was able to pick it up and move it by myself.

It's pretty stupid that the factory Solara muffler weighs 21lbs.
I weighed mine way back when I took it off and thought the
scale must have been wrong. I didn't realize the 5speed box
was that light. Some good info here.

Well, I finally have an answer to the question. I removed the engine from my donor Solara Monday and I just now weighed the engine.

The configuration was:

Engine
Transmission
Alternator
Starter
AC compressor
Power steering pump
Intake and exhaust manifolds + a portion of the exhaust ending behind the flex pipe (flex pipe included).
Two front motor mounts
Wiring (except ECU)

Basically everything under the hood that attaches to the engine except the drive shafts.

The weight was (drum roll please) ~522 lbs
Assuming the transmission weighs ~110 lbs (based on the E58), the engine and all its ancillaries would weigh: ~412 lbs.

Enjoy!
