IPT trans have just recently ripped off me and mrchunks for around $6500. Do not go to them! big mistake. We are currently working on a video of tracys car running with the "brand new" IPT trans, it wont go into any gear. this is the thrid time they have attempted to fix this for us. We are launching an internet attack against them unless they give us a full refund. Man those guys are pieces of crap.

i want my auto to last, so all i did was install a fluid cooler in front of my radiator and change out fluid with Amsoil ATF. i guess i can see doing a shift kit for harder shifts; but changing to a electronic manual shift i dont see being worth it, not like its gonna add a gear and make it a 5 speed. that would be sick if you could add a gear and change ratios tho.

Has anybody talked to "Tony" (the Tiger) about this?
He seems to promote their product and he's running one of their transmissions. He might have some insight or might help work with you guys and IPT.
This is really disappointing. I want one of their trans, I might just have to go to Level10.
Please keep us posted.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

They are the biggest pricks. Me, Greg, and Tracy are so fed up with these guys. We have removed and installed Tracys Transmission twice so far and sent it back to IPT (almost 1k in shipping costs alone so far) , each time they send it back to us, the trans its worse and worse. This time we got it back it looks like they hadnt done a damn thing to it, there was still burnt trans fluid in the converter, we send it all the way back to them and they didn't even drain the converter, which was part of the problem with the trans in the first place. These guys are super super shady.

because of my transmission i really contemplated parting with the car....

Its true, the transmission in my car has been pulled more times in the past year than the damn oil's been changed.

Damn, this really sucks...

Sorry to hear all the issues you are having with IPT.. I've always thought they were doing a great job with the transmissions.

It has been a good 4-5 years since I had my transmission built... My most recent transaction with IPT was for a valvebody upgrade on my IS300 last year, and that went smooth.

Were you guys dealing with John @ IPT directly? I've been dealing with him directly everytime. I noticed his partner or employees had a lot of complaints, all the way from Supraforums as well with stuff shipped wrong, and issues. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

For the transmission problems, the first time I had mine transmission from IPT, I also had the same problem with it not getting into any gear. It won't shift out of Park and won't get into any gear... But it was a simple fix and my mechanic simply told me a shift lever mechanism inside the transmission was reversed... Took an hour for him fix it and everything has been good since then. I don't know the specifics because it has been a long time ago.

From now on, looks like I won't be recommending IPT anymore due to the problems within the Camry community... Damn, sucks to hear.
