Hey guys, I'm planning on dropping my car from the stock springs. My question is; what is the most efficient way to drop the Gen 1 Lara, (what seems like 3 inches too high  ) while not breaking the bank?

I'm guessing I have to go with springs, but does anyone recommend any specific brand that's cheap while still reliable?

Eibach is great stuff. The drop is solid, usable, and looks nice.
I think TEIN looks a little too high in the back. As for COs,
they're expensive but to some it is worth it. K Sport has nice stuff
so does TEIN, JIC seems nice but I don't know about durability.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

coilovers.. i went thru 3 different springs ( h-techs/s-techs/b&g) and with the way you seem rather critical about the wheel gap.. springs will probably not satisfy. good luck!

I got TEIN S-Tech right now.
They're ok lowerin' springs.
Right now i want my car lower, so coilovers are next on my list.

I have the Eibachs you posted. They gave me about 1 3/4in. drop.
I like the gap and they still have plenty of room for suspension travel.
I do rub when my 18s are on though, but I haven't modified the
fenders yet though, so after that, probably very limited rub.
For waht you want, you should probably look at the Eibachs.
If you want more drop, go for some COs, but somewhere around
2in. drop should be fine.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

For springs, I'd recommend Tein or Eibach - both are very reputable brands.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm on stock wheels and springs now. So I'm guessing there's probably around a 3-4 inch gap right now. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I want a sporty look, one that I would be able to notice.
( ex. http://sr1.clublexus.com/gallery/data/5 ... Solara.jpg )

However, I do NOT want the ricer type look where the top of the wheel is hidden under the fender.
( ex. http://www.justplaintrick.com/projects/ ... lara01.jpg )

It looks to me that most springs lower the car less than 2 inches. If so, do I need coilovers to get the look I desire, OR would a 1 3/4 inch drop from springs do it?

Thanks again for all the help.

That doesn't really answer my question, but I appreciate the attempt.

You could also look into Ground Control Springs.

They're kinda like coilovers in that they are adjustable but they don't cost as much.

Do they give a bigger drop than regular springs?
